Grant Jr<\/strong>. (MBA \u201989, BBA \u201978) stands at the pinnacle of his career.<\/p>\n<p>Grant, who serves as branch director of financial planning for AXA Advisors\u2019 South Florida Branch, recently received the company\u2019s 2011 National Honor Associate Award.<\/p>\n<p>The annual award is granted to a financial professional who represents the \u201ctotal professional\u201d by best exemplifying the esteemed qualities and attributes of community service, loyalty, leadership and respect. A committee of his peers chose Grant for the prestigious honor from among thousands of candidates.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11218\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11218\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/tn_Geralds-office-photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11218\" title=\"tn_Gerald's office photo\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/tn_Geralds-office-photo-e1299071975426.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11218\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gerald C. Grant Jr.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWinning this award is a great honor,\u201d Grant said. \u201cI have never strived to win awards, simply to serve my clients and my community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luis Chiappy and Hugo Castro, executive vice presidents, AXA Advisors National Division and joint managers of the local branch, announced the award.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrant is a model for professionalism in our business and is a recognized leader in civic and community endeavors,\u201d Chiappy said.<\/p>\n<p><em>Book opens door to financial literacy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>During his many speaking engagements, attendees often asked Grant for more in-depth information on financial literacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen my research failed to yield the right results, I decided to tackle the topic myself,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This in turn led him to write <em>Bold Moves to Creating Financial Wealth<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Grant is now teaching a course based on this book at Miami Dade College\u2019s Wolfson campus.<\/p>\n<p><em>Business school serves as strong foundation for career.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Grant credits his time spent at the College of Business Administration for providing him with the skills needed to transition successfully into the business world.<\/p>\n<p>An active alumnus, Grant now serves on the Florida International University (FIU) Foundation Board of Directors and on the advisory board for the FIU Honors College.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Without a doubt, Gerald C.
