{"id":1188,"date":"2009-05-13T15:22:08","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T19:22:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=1188"},"modified":"2017-11-08T10:28:33","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T15:28:33","slug":"diana-rodas-marrink-imba-03","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2009\/05\/diana-rodas-marrink-imba-03\/","title":{"rendered":"IMBA graduate launches eco-friendly online baby products store."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Diana Rodas-Marrink (IMBA \u201903)<br \/>\nOwner<br \/>\nWorld Sources, the parent company for Best Baby Organics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always had the entrepreneurial spirit,\u201d said Diana Rodas-Marrink (IMBA \u201903), owner of World Sources, the parent company of Best Baby Organics, an online store offering organic baby clothing and eco-friendly baby gear.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1355 size-full\" title=\"Best Baby Organics website\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/baby_organics.jpg\" alt=\"Best Baby Organics website\" width=\"300\" height=\"340\" \/>\u201cWhen I was expecting my first child, I discovered quickly that corporate America is not always the best fit for a new mom,\u201d Rodas-Marrink said. \u201cI wanted to change that . . . so I started my own company, which is dedicated to bringing our customers the very best products for babies and children at affordable prices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rodas-Marrink believes the business education she received in the college helped make her the entrepreneur she is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn today\u2019s business world, there are no boundaries,\u201d she said. \u201cMy experience at the college exposed me to tremendous diversity and provided valuable experience in dealing with other cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She credits the frequent use of case studies in her coursework for giving her the tools she needed \u201cto deal with real-world circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Running one company is not enough for Rodas-Marrink. She also handles the business management side of her husband\u2019s logistics consulting firm.<\/p>\n<p>Her advice to those dreaming of starting resonates with her passion for entrepreneurship: \u201cFollow your heart. Don\u2019t wait.
