{"id":15977,"date":"2012-04-10T19:11:14","date_gmt":"2012-04-10T19:11:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=15977"},"modified":"2017-06-29T08:26:25","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T12:26:25","slug":"fbla-pbl-brings-home-buckets-of-awards-from-state-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2012\/04\/fbla-pbl-brings-home-buckets-of-awards-from-state-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"FBLA-PBL brings home buckets of awards from state competition."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s outstanding math: 30 members of Future Business Leaders of America\u2013Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) from Florida International University (FIU) brought back 32 awards from the organization\u2019s 2012 State Leadership Conference held March 15-18 in Tampa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFIU became one of the universities to take home the most awards, the most ever for our team,\u201d said chapter advisor Yanyn San Luis (BA \u201910), who accompanied the group. \u201cMany of the awards entitle members now to compete at the national level this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15978\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15978\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15978 size-full\" title=\"FBLA-PBL\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/FBLA-PBL.jpg\" alt=\"Members of FIU\u2019s FBLA-PBL at the 2012 State Leadership Conference\" width=\"540\" height=\"404\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15978\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Members of FIU\u2019s FBLA-PBL at the 2012 State Leadership Conference<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The conference, with the theme of \u201cIgnite the Light,\u201d drew 400 students from around the state.
