School of Accounting<\/em><\/p>\n Daniel Medina (MACC \u201901, BACC \u201997), adjunct, is quoted in an article titled \u201cWhat\u2019s new with e-discovery<\/a>,\u201d which appeared in South Florida Legal Guide Midyear 2012 Edition<\/em>.<\/p>\n Department of Decision Sciences and Information Systems<\/em><\/p>\n Nancy Borkowski, clinical associate professor; Ariel Gil, Write-to-Learn assistant director in the Chapman Graduate School; and Jean Gordon, visiting faculty administrator co-presented \u201cWriting Beyond Clipboards: Write-to-Learn (W2L) for Healthcare Professionals\u201d at the 2012 Association of University Programs in Health Administration\u2019s annual meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Titled \u201cEmbracing Transformation,\u201d the conference took place May 31-June 1. On June 8th, Borkowski served as the moderator for the panel discussion \u201cBudgets vs. Policy: How Tough Decisions Get Made\u201d at the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association\u2019s 7th<\/sup> Annual Healthcare Summit in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.<\/p>\n Sushil Gupta, professor and Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow, was recognized by FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg at the Board of Trustees full board meeting on June 14, 2012. In April, he received the first Distinguished Service Award from Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) and the award was renamed the Sushil K. Gupta POMS Distinguished Service Award.<\/p>\n Department of Finance and Real Estate<\/em><\/p>\n Deanne Butchey, senior lecturer, has been elected to the steering committee of AACSB\u2019s Associate Deans\u2019 Affinity Group for a three-year term.<\/p>\n Robert Daigler, professor and Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow, and Suchismita (Suchi) Mishra, associate professor and Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow, presented \u201cThe Effect of Algorithmic Trading on Liquidity in the Options Market\u201d at the Stern Microstructure Meeting, held at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University on June 1, 2012.<\/p>\n Ken H. Johnson, associate professor and Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow, recently was quoted in a number of articles, including one that appeared in BloombergBusinessweek<\/em>: \u201cMost affordable U.S. cities to buy a home<\/a>,\u201d on CNN Money<\/em> and \u201cCase-Shiller index: South Florida home prices on the rise<\/a>\u201d in the Sun-Sentinel<\/em> on May 29th<\/sup>; \u201cFeds to sell off delinquent loans, aiding South Florida borrowers in foreclosure<\/a>,\u201d in the Palm Beach Post<\/em> on June 8th<\/sup>; \u201cHomeowners have more options as market recovers<\/a>\u201d on June 25th in BloombergBusinessweek;\u201d<\/em> and \u201cCase-Shiller index: S.
