{"id":17501,"date":"2012-07-27T13:45:12","date_gmt":"2012-07-27T13:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=17501"},"modified":"2014-11-14T15:59:20","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T20:59:20","slug":"charlene-blevens-joins-fiu-business-as-director-of-finance-and-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2012\/07\/charlene-blevens-joins-fiu-business-as-director-of-finance-and-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"Charlene Blevens joins FIU Business as director of finance and administration."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While many people fear major technology implementations, Charlene Blevens, the new director of finance and administration in the College of Business at Florida International University (FIU), sees the process differently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever you go live, it\u2019s extremely exciting,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd the university is doing a lot quickly, so it is always exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17502\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17502\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2012\/07\/charlene-blevens-joins-fiu-business-as-director-of-finance-and-administration\/charlene\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-17502\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17502\" title=\"charlene\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/charlene.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17502\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Charlene Blevens<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An FIU employee since 2006, Blevens has been an assistant vice president in several university-level offices and has been able to apply her interest and experience in research throughout her career. She has found her role in the college very enjoyable, especially the opportunity to work for an \u201centrepreneurial, visionary dean\u201d in the person of Joyce J.
