{"id":22092,"date":"2013-08-26T19:38:07","date_gmt":"2013-08-26T19:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=22092"},"modified":"2014-11-14T15:33:40","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T20:33:40","slug":"bizlife-welcome-home-week-events-run-august-26-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2013\/08\/bizlife-welcome-home-week-events-run-august-26-30\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cBizLife Welcome Home Week\u201d events run August 26-30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back, BizPanthers!<\/p>\n<p>With the beginning of the school year, the College of Business is ready to celebrate new and returning students with \u201cBizLife Welcome Home Week\u201d at Florida International University (FIU).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn your first trip to campus this week&#8211;or every day this week&#8211;BizPanthers should be sure to stop by the lobby of the College of Business Complex,\u201d said\u00a0Ileana Canizares (BBA \u201912), student relations coordinator. \u201cWe have a week\u2019s worth of information and fun for all business students and for those interested in learning more about FIU\u2019s College of Business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2852.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22095\" title=\"IMG_2852\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2852.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2852.jpg 550w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2852-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year, BizLife Welcome Home is being held for the entire first week of classes. Students can have an informal look at the college\u2019s wide range of opportunities and enjoy reconnecting with friends in the CBC lobby from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 through Friday, August 30.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2849.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22094\" title=\"IMG_2849\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2849.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2849.jpg 550w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/IMG_2849-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the business college\u2019s 14 student organizations will have information tables with handouts and giveaways as will many of the college\u2019s centers and student services departments such as Undergraduate Advising and Career Management Services.<\/p>\n<p><em>BizLife Family Welcome Bash and other special events scheduled. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>In addition to information tables and mingling all week long, special events in the CBC lobby include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Monday at 2:00 p.m., snacks will be served.<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday is BizPanther Pride day. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to wear FIU branded clothing.<\/li>\n<li>A BizLife Family Welcome Bash will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with breakfast items served starting at 10:30 a.m. FIU\u2019s mascot Roary will be at the event from 10:30-11:30 and Dean David R. Klock will be there to meet students from 11:00 \u2013 11:30 a.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cStudents should plan on stopping by often because there will be a different crowd every day,\u201d Canizares said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back, BizPanthers!
