The event, which takes place once a semester, also wins praise as an important place to make connections for internships and jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Yet it also gives many alumni of the college\u2019s accounting, finance and MIS programs who are employed by local firms an opportunity to return to campus with a new perspective: what it feels like to be on the opposite side of the employer\/prospect\u00a0 equation. Several alumni shared their thoughts during the Spring 2014 Expo, held January 30, 2014 at the Graham Center Ballroom.<em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Alumni reflect on a \u201chumbling\u201d experience. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s humbling to be back,\u201d said Mijail Teijeiro (BAcc \u201913) of Perez-Abreu, Aguerrebere , Sueiro &amp; Torres, P.L.. \u201cYou understand the nerves the students have.\u201d\u00a0 He represented the firm along with Monica Reyes (BAcc \u201913), Shane Sasso (BAcc \u201905, MAcc \u201907), and Stephanie Licea, who plans to graduate later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Alena Dmyterko (BAcc \u201910, MAcc \u201913), recruiting at the event for BDO, earned her graduate degree while working, and remembers the challenges of the job hunt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels great to be on the other side,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to sharing advice with the students who are now facing what I once faced.
