He will serve three years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22842\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22842\" style=\"width: 219px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/kundus022814122735.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-22842\" title=\"kundus022814122735\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/kundus022814122735-219x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/kundus022814122735-219x300.jpg 219w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/kundus022814122735.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 219px) 100vw, 219px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22842\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sumit Kundu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kundu, who is also the James K. Batten Eminent Scholar Chair in International Business in FIU\u2019s College of Business, will join the board in August, 2014 at AIB\u2019s annual meeting in Vancouver, Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoining the AIB Board is truly a dream come true for me, a huge honor,\u201d Kundu said. \u201cMy research, my teaching, my service all revolve around globalization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AIB is the leading association of scholars and specialists in the field of international business. Established in 1959, AIB today has more than 3,300 members in 87 countries. Members include scholars from the leading global academic institutions as well consultants, researchers, government and NGO representatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe at FIU have long recognized Sumit Kundu&#8217;s leadership qualities and it is certainly high time that AIB has now done so as well with his election as vice president for administration,\u201d said the immediate past president of AIB Mary Ann Von Glinow, professor and director of FIU\u2019s Center for International Business Education and Research. \u201cAIB is looking forward to Sumit&#8217;s leadership over the next three years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Kundu looks forward to new role.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>AIB\u2019s vice president for Administration has oversight responsibility for finances, membership and chapter relations. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring my term on the AIB Board, I will reach out to potential members around the world, particularly those in developing countries,\u201d Kundu said. \u201cI would love to see more AIB members in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Eastern and Central Europe to make our organization even more of a world body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very proud of Dr. Kundu\u2019s achievement in obtaining this prestigious appointment to AIB\u2019s Board of Directors,\u201d said David R.
