A career on Wall Street? Opening your own company? It can happen for FIU graduates.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23136\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23136\" style=\"width: 576px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/13900261416_9f6a242c8b_z.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-23136\" title=\"13900261416_9f6a242c8b_z\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/13900261416_9f6a242c8b_z.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/13900261416_9f6a242c8b_z.jpg 640w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/13900261416_9f6a242c8b_z-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23136\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">John Marin, incoming Mr. FIU Business and Alessia Tacchella, incoming Miss FIU Business.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>John Marin, the new Mr. FIU Business, joins Tacchella in her goal of increased communication to students about opportunities&#8211;and both have an additional ambition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to represent FIU\u2019s College of Business to the business community, to let others know the high caliber of students we have here,\u201d Marin says. \u201cOur students are motivated and have excellent academic and work experience credentials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both students are majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics, with GPAs over 3.9. Both have internships this summer: Tacchella with Goldman Sachs in Miami and Marin with JP Morgan in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>In the coming year, Tacchella and Marin will work with faculty and staff to plan events and projects for the college. Marin will serve as president of the Phoenician Investment Fund, an FIU student organization whereby students immerse themselves in learning about the capital markets from experienced peers. Tacchella is the vice president of membership for the organization and is also active in ALPFA FIU.<\/p>\n<p>Marin and Tacchella received their honors at the 2014 FIU Business Awards, held at the end of the spring semester at the College of Business\u2019 Special Events Center.
