Programs already underway include accounting, financial management, international business, a professional MBA, and a healthcare MBA.<\/p>\n<p>A joint FIU-Broward College facility, FIU at I-75 is located at 1930 S.W. 145 Ave. and will hold its open house on October 25. Course offerings include business, liberal arts, construction management, engineering, education and public administration.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/broward-200.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-23511\" title=\"broward-200\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/broward-200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>\u201cOur student body is increasing because we\u2019re offering more courses and we\u2019re seeing interest from BC students that want to transfer to FIU,\u201d says Esther Benayoun, academic advisor, College of Business. \u201cThe center is also getting attention because it\u2019s new, bigger and more visible right by I-75\u2026 and it\u2019s also closer to Miami.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FIU at I-75 offers Bachelor and Master degrees, graduate certificates, test preparation, and non-credit professional courses. Targeting working adults, many programs include evening and Saturday classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBroward is a great market where we can serve thousands of students, and FIU is their closest major research state university,\u201d said David R. Klock, dean of the College of Business. \u201cPlus, the economic health of Broward County, an increasingly important business center, directly impacts what we do in Miami-Dade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>MBAs and undergraduate programs expand in tech-savvy building.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The College of Business\u2019 Master of Science in Information Systems and Master of Science in Health Informatics &amp; Management Systems are moving from FIU\u2019s Brickell center to FIU at I-75.<\/p>\n<p>Carolina Berget, program manager for the MSIS &amp; MSHI&amp;MS programs, pointed out that both have seen increased enrollment from Broward residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of students in the health informatics &amp; management systems program are nurses working at Broward hospitals,\u201d Berget said. \u201cProspective students are also very interested [in the I-75 location] because they live nearby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four-story, 89,000-square-foot building is fully wireless and features high-tech\u00a0classrooms with SMART and Promethean boards, science labs, and study areas with video conferencing capabilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The College of Business has taken a commanding presence at FIU\u2019s recently inaugurated academic center in Miramar.
