As real estate students meet professionals and learn more about what they do, they build connections in the field as well as an awareness of the variety of routes to career success.<\/p>\n<p>This was the motivation behind Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Miami\u2019s networking program. At a CREW Miami event sponsored by the College of Business\u2019 Hollo School of Real Estate, held February 3 at FIU\u2019s Frost Art Museum, 100 students and 20 CREW Miami mentors gathered for an evening of networking and career conversations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Suzanne.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24997 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Suzanne-640x360.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Suzanne-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Suzanne-230x130.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Suzanne Hollander, CREW Miami Education Director, attorney and real estate broker who teaches in the Hollo School, organized the event and encouraged students to meet as many professionals as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s speed networking! We\u2019ll ring the bell every 12 minutes, and you\u2019ll move from table to table and have an opportunity talk to leaders from many real estate professions,\u201d she told the group.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bill-hardin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-24998\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bill-hardin-640x360.jpg\" alt=\"bill-hardin\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bill-hardin-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bill-hardin-230x130.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>William Hardin, director of the Hollo School, encouraged students to take advantage of the knowledge being shared and thanked mentors for their participation.<\/p>\n<p><em>CREW leaders champion mentoring efforts. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>For real estate professionals at the event, sharing their knowledge with students was its own reward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a committed mentor,\u201d said Maruta (Marti) S. Mang, senior vice president at Totalbank and this year\u2019s CREW Miami President. \u201cThere\u2019s nothing more exhilarating than being able to help a young person get on the right path.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/group-photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-24999\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/group-photo-640x360.jpg\" alt=\"group-photo\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/group-photo-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/group-photo-230x130.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mitra Mollaie, a FIU Business student majoring in finance and marketing who attended the event, earned a CREW Miami scholarship of $2,000 and is now working in real estate with an investment firm.
