The spring 2017 semester is off to a busy start at the College of Business with orientation and networking events, even a high-wire act, plus visits from prominent alumni, sharing their stories of finding success at FIU.<\/p>\n

FIU School of Accounting<\/a> students have been great sources of talent for Kaufman Rossin, one of Florida\u2019s largest independent accounting firms. In appreciation for the firm\u2019s $100,000 gift, Room 221 in MANGO was named for Kaufman Rossin.<\/p>\n Students and their mentors shared a networking exercise in partnership with Career Management Services<\/a> to prepare for their college-to-career transition. Face-to-face contact is key because it enhances relationship-building and showcases confidence and professionalism.<\/p>\n College of Business alumnus Michael Kappitt (BAAC \u201992), president of Carrabba\u2019s Italian Grill, discussed creative marketing, consumer intelligence and branding success with AMA@FIU<\/a> students. A fast-changing media landscape and social media make the marketing battle tougher.<\/p>\n Filled with teambuilding exercises\u2014culminating in a high-wire balancing act\u2014the Healthcare MBA\u2019s<\/a> Ropes Course gives students the opportunity to work in teams and develop a stro<\/em>ng affiliation with all their classmates.<\/p>\n
