That\u2019s the case for <strong>Yousef Al-Saleh<\/strong> (BBA 06), one of two MIB graduates who arrived at Escuela Superior de Gesti\u00f3n Comercial y Marketing (ESIC) in Madrid in September 2008 and about to complete the MBA program there.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2897\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2897\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/tiopepe.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2897\" title=\"tiopepe\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/tiopepe-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Yousef Al-Saleh in front of the famous Tio Pepe sign in Puerta del Sol, a plaza in the heart of Madrid\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2897\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yousef Al-Saleh in front of the famous Tio Pepe sign in Puerta del Sol, a plaza in the heart of Madrid<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Born in Colorado, and having lived in Kuwait and London before attending FIU, Al-Saleh, who plans to live in Kuwait, decided \u201cmidway through my MIB that a different perspective and approach would really benefit me, and complement my MIB studies. It would also help me a lot with my Spanish, which it has.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Opportunities increase exponentially through Dual Degree option.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A veteran of travel experiences offered through the MIB program, Al-Saleh had been to Prague and Budapest in 2007 and China in 2008. But this was his first trip to Spain, and he\u2019s used the time well to visit locations throughout the country, and as a base from which to visit other countries.<\/p>\n<p>He particularly values the mix of career preparation and enjoyment his time in Spain has afforded him, not to mention the change \u201cto earn a second master\u2019s degree without repeating any unnecessary courses. Also, learning a different perspective to business is really important for students looking to work in or with multinational companies. Besides, it\u2019s great fun, a break to the routine and it\u2019s helping me get over my Miami addiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Underscoring the reciprocal nature of the Dual Degree program, the Chapman School has welcomed its first graduate student from ESIC: <strong>Javier Climent<\/strong>, who began the MIB program in May 2009.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Through the College of Business Administration\u2019s Dual Degree program, students receive an MBA from their \u201chome\u201d business school and a Master of International Business (MIB) degree from Florida International University (FIU)\u2019s Chapman School.
