{"id":30188,"date":"2018-03-29T10:52:27","date_gmt":"2018-03-29T14:52:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=30188"},"modified":"2018-04-10T09:28:19","modified_gmt":"2018-04-10T13:28:19","slug":"fiu-business-career-fair-connects-companies-with-just-right-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2018\/03\/fiu-business-career-fair-connects-companies-with-just-right-students\/","title":{"rendered":"FIU Business Career Fair connects companies with just-right students."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was a day for FIU Business students to show off\u2026 their resumes and their elevator pitches, that is.<\/p>\n<p>The FIU Business Career Fair, held March 22, 2018, brought together students looking for that just-right internship or full-time job with companies seeking candidates with a broad range of degrees and experience levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents get to showcase and verbalize their skills and abilities beyond just submitting a resume, while employers get to share how amazing their company is, beyond just browsing their website,\u201d said John Nykolaiszyn, director, <a href=\"https:\/\/business.fiu.edu\/careers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Career Management Services at FIU Business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/90f1eSmOPqs?rel=0\" width=\"100%\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s fair drew 85 companies and 655 students. First-time participants Visa and Chewy joined the likes of KLX Aerospace, Walmart and Raymond James seeking candidates for internships or full-time positions.<\/p>\n<p>The FIU Business Career Fair aims to provide employers with access to candidates with a broad range of degrees and experience levels. The event debuted in 2014 and is held every year in the spring semester.<\/p>\n<p>Recruiters frequently cite the caliber of FIU students and the strength of the university\u2019s business programs as strong selling points for potential interns as well as full-time employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur students are well trained, highly sought after, and ready to work,\u201d Nykolaiszyn added. \u201cFIU Business is the largest provider of diverse, workforce-ready talent in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/slideShow\/index.gne?group_id=&amp;user_id=23794481@N04&amp;set_id=72157691860976482\/show\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" align=\"middle\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was a day for FIU Business students to show off\u2026 their resumes and their elevator pitches, that is.
