{"id":313,"date":"2009-04-24T10:08:38","date_gmt":"2009-04-24T14:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=313"},"modified":"2014-11-14T16:01:07","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T21:01:07","slug":"a-night-of-networking-unfolds-under-the-miami-sky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2009\/04\/a-night-of-networking-unfolds-under-the-miami-sky\/","title":{"rendered":"A night of networking unfolds under the Miami sky."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Forty-two floors up, more than 100 FIU alumni gathered from the business,  real estate, law, accounting, YUPA, and Honors College alumni chapters for a  night of networking in the heart of Miami\u2019s downtown at 500 Brickell on March  12, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNetworking opens doors and creates opportunities, which is especially  important in a market in which people are looking for jobs,\u201d said  <strong>Michelle Joubert<\/strong>, assistant director of advancement and alumni  relations, College of Business Administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvents such as these truly provide a platform to network for all  professionals, of all ages, to share common interests, build relationships, and  learn about new career paths,\u201d said Business Alumni Chapter president,  <strong>Juan Carlos Hernandez<\/strong>. \u201cAt this event, alumni were able to meet  potential employers such as New England Financial, a Met Life Company.
