The theme is leadership: \u201cLead in life, lead in community and lead by example.\u201d The programming includes \u201cCareer Connections,\u201d leadership lecture breakfasts, and a service and student engagement project.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3437\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3437\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3437 size-full\" title=\"Board members pictured left to right: Sammi Rosin, Dianne Cordova, Basit Hasan and Melany Michelena\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/tn_IMG_4661.jpg\" alt=\"Board members pictured left to right: Sammi Rossin, Dianne Cordova, Basit Hasan and Melany Michelena\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3437\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Board members pictured left to right: Sammi Rosin, Dianne Cordova, Basit Hasan and Melany Michelena<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Through a partnership with the College of Business Administration\u2019s Career Management Services (CMS), the group will conduct a three-part series called \u201cCareer Connections.\u201d It will provide alumni with valuable tools to leverage their network for career advancement. The first \u201cCareer Connection\u201d event will feature guest speaker Paul Gregg, managing director of Boyden, a global search firm, who will speak about leveraging professional relationships through social networking. The talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. on September 10, 2009 at the Sports Exchange in Coral Gables.<\/p>\n<p>The leadership lecture breakfasts will facilitate informative learning from distinguished speakers and experts on business leadership.<\/p>\n<p>A core committee leads the service project: <strong>Johanna Salazar<\/strong>, <strong>Gloria Camacho<\/strong>, <strong>David Dominguez <\/strong>(BBA\u201904),<strong> Pedro Ramos<\/strong>, <strong>Yolanda Rodriguez <\/strong>(BS \u201907), <strong>Oscar Grau<\/strong> (BBA \u201903) and<strong> Rosa Rivera<\/strong>. The group welcomes additional business alumni who are passionate about giving back to the community.<\/p>\n<p>Recognizing that building student leaders today will create a stronger alumni base for the future, the board regards involving senior students as an important initiative this year. As part of the initiative, the board will sponsor eight students to The Academy of Leaders, which teaches leadership competencies through educational seminars, experiential exercises and practical application.<\/p>\n<p>The Business Alumni Chapter board members lead by example.
