Members of the leadership team of Coral Gables accounting firm GEMRT share a unique connection: all seven are graduates of FIU Business, some holding multiple degrees from the college.

Today, they share a pride in what their FIU experience instilled in them, as well as a passion for client service, and a belief in the power of building community and ongoing education.

GEMRT, now 60 team members strong, is named for the initials of Roy A. Garcia (MBA ’95, BAcc ’89), Rafael A. (Ralph) Espinosa (MBA ’94, BAcc ’89), Leonardo Miyares (BAcc ’89), Mariano Rodriguez (BAcc ’79) and Carlos M. Trueba (BAcc ’77), as well as Juan Carlos Gonzalez (MAcc ’88, BAcc ’85) and Jarnette G. Rodriguez (BAcc ’93). And while officially, the firm is only a few years old, members of the leadership team knew each other, personally and professionally, for decades.
