He recalled how the data centers for those first mining efforts were set up in small towns in the Swiss Alps, with cheap electricity, cold weather and snow that controlled the heat generated by the constantly running computers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf you want to mine, you will need to have access to very cheap electricity,\u201d said Juillard, head of sustainability at DeepSquare. \u201cToday, the energy demands are lower when you have hyper efficient clusters of renewable power and cooling technology plus heat recapture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That is where DeepSquare comes in, noted Denizdurduran, its head of technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incorporating some of the technologies used in supercomputers can help solve problems generated by large-scale data centers, many filled with servers that don\u2019t deliver information, consistently increase energy consumption and carbon emissions. As a result, the impact on climate and the environment is considerable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe can define global goals and determine algorithms to address them,\u201d said\u00a0Denizdurduran. \u201cTo\u00a0create social and environmentally driven projects to improve the efficiency of the computing industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the project\u2019s funding, managers created the DeepSquare token, a cryptocurrency.
