Dean\u2019s Council members learned about Rosenberg\u2019s plans to \u201cHit the Ground Running,\u201d and Rosenberg heard ways members of the Dean\u2019s Council can help him achieve his vision to make FIU \u201ca leading student-centered urban public research university that is locally and globally engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4562\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4562\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4562 size-full\" title=\"Members of the Dean\u2019s Council and administrators from the business school met with FIU President Mark Rosenberg\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/dc.jpg\" alt=\"Members of the Dean\u2019s Council and administrators from the business school met with FIU President Mark Rosenberg, front row right and Executive Dean Joyce Elam, front row, center.\" width=\"550\" height=\"499\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4562\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Members of the Dean\u2019s Council and administrators from the business school met with FIU President Mark Rosenberg, front row right and Executive Dean Joyce Elam, front row, center.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The key components of the plan include efforts to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Revitalize and expand financial base<\/li>\n<li>Achieve results-oriented student-centered academic excellence<\/li>\n<li>Enhance the quality and impact of research and creative initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Engage the community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cPresident Rosenberg and members of the Dean\u2019s Council had a lively conversation about the four core points of \u2018Hit the Ground Running\u2019, discussing ways business school can align itself to his objectives and contribute to the success of the initiative,\u201d said <strong>Luis Casas<\/strong>, the college\u2019s director of marketing, communications and recruiting.<\/p>\n<p><em>Rosenberg<\/em><em> makes multiple appearances to business school constituencies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were delighted to have President Rosenberg address this very important group of advisors to the business school,\u201d said <strong>Annabelle Rojas<\/strong>, (MBA \u201998, BBA \u201987), assistant dean, department of advancement, alumni and corporate relations, whose office organizes Dean\u2019s Council meetings on behalf of Executive Dean <strong>Joyce Elam<\/strong>. \u201cHe has already made himself very available to our supporters, beginning shortly after he took office, when he met with members of our <a href=\"https:\/\/business.fiu.edu\/alumni\/alumni-board.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dean\u2019s Alumni Circle<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was hosted by Dean\u2019s Council member Maria del Busto, global chief human resources officer and vice president, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
