But the opportunities were always there for growth.<\/p>\n<p>[flv:http:\/\/business.fiu.edu\/newsletters\/BusinessNetworks\/2008\/12\/videos\/amy.flv 500 334]<\/p>\n<p>Attending a new university and starting its first sorority prepared her to take on the challenge two-and-a-half years ago when she joined Burger King\u2019s executive team to help take the company public\u2014another chance to \u201cbe part of something brand new and see it grow over time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Having discovered as an undergraduate focusing on public affairs that \u201cfinance was my internal calling,\u201d she advises others to \u201calways keep your eyes open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Being open to something new was true for her when she was asked to add public relations to her responsibilities at Burger King, an unexpected offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never know  where life will take you,\u201d she said. \u201cTake advantage of the opportunities.
