The top ten percent of senior undergraduate students and the top twenty percent of graduate students were inducted at a banquet on April 11, 2006, attended by 170 family members and friends of the students.<\/p>\n<p>At the ceremony, <strong>Kenneth  Rojas<\/strong>, an accounting major, read what the letters mean\u2014Bebaeos (honor), Gnosis (wisdom), and Spoude (earnestness)\u2014and called out the names of the inductees. Executive Dean <strong>Joyce J. Elam,<\/strong> who is the president of the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter in the college, conducted  the ritual of the induction.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/business.fiu.edu\/newsletters\/BusinessNetworks\/May2006\/images\/0005.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"408\" height=\"230\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeta Gamma Sigma offers opportunities for student and  corporate networking,\u201d said <strong>Anezka  Martinez-Rios<\/strong>, coordinator of the event for the Executive Dean\u2019s office. \u201cAlso, some employers specify that they want members as candidates for positions within their companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clifford Perry<\/strong>, associate dean, academic affairs  and undergraduate programs, serves as faculty advisor to the chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest international recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or graduate program at a school accredited by AACSB International\u2014The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
