This year, there will be even more ways to win the Business Plan Challenge, our annual business plan competition.<\/p>\n
<\/a>That’s because the Challenge, now in its 12th year, is growing. We have a sponsor — Florida International University’s Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center — and there will be three contest tracks.<\/p>\n Like last year, there will be a community track, the main contest open to all South Florida residents, and a student track, open to grades 9-12 that we run with our contest partner NFTE (The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) South Florida.<\/p>\n The new addition is an FIU track, open to alumni, students, faculty and staff.<\/p>\n . . .<\/p>\n Read: \u201cBusiness Plan Challenge grows, adds new track<\/a>,\u201c an article from the MiamiHerald.com.<\/p>\n Additional Media Coverage<\/strong><\/p>\n The annual Entrepreneur Challenge Business Plan Competition is designed to provide a platform for FIU affiliates (including students, faculty, staff and alumni) to showcase new ideas, while providing a forum to attract investment for their business models. The business model must prove itself to have breadth and sustainability; as well as demonstrate that it possesses, or can acquire, the resources to actually launch and be viable. Since 2004, the Pino Center has recognized approximately fifty-five noteworthy student business plans that have received a cash gift and have launched new ventures. This year, the Pino Center and the FIU\u2019s College of Business have joined forces with The Miami Herald<\/a>, and for the first time the Pino Center will be the naming sponsor for the Miami Herald\u2019s Business Plan Challenge.<\/em><\/p>\n The Miami Herald Business Plan Competition, presented by the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center, will offer two tracks for the competition: one open only to FIU affiliates and a second track open to the South Florida community at large.<\/em><\/p>\n\n
