{"id":849,"date":"2008-04-01T16:33:30","date_gmt":"2008-04-01T20:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=849"},"modified":"2017-06-29T09:09:41","modified_gmt":"2017-06-29T13:09:41","slug":"849","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2008\/04\/849\/","title":{"rendered":"2008 Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame inductees have been selected."},"content":{"rendered":"<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"modImage\" src=\"http:\/\/business.fiu.edu\/newsletters\/BusinessNetworks\/2008\/04\/images\/MButters0013.jpg\" alt=\"Malcom Butters\" width=\"150\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Malcom Butters<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The ninth annual Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame Luncheon and Induction Ceremony on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Jungle Island will induct two alumni selected on January 25 by a panel of judges consisting of sponsors and previous honorees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Malcolm Butters <\/strong>(MBA \u201983), president and founder of Butters Construction &amp; Development, will be inducted as the &#8220;Founder,\u201d an alumnus\/ae of Florida International University\u2019s College of Business Administration who is a founder and key member of a start-up team.\u00a0 To receive the award, the individual must have at least five employees, have been in operation for a minimum of five years, and have had significant revenue and profit growth over the last five years.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"modImage\" src=\"http:\/\/business.fiu.edu\/newsletters\/BusinessNetworks\/2008\/04\/images\/IUrbieta0003.jpg\" alt=\"Ignacio Urbieta\" width=\"150\" height=\"225\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ignacio Urbieta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Ignacio Urbieta <\/strong>(MBA \u201985), chief executive officer, Urbieta Oil, will be inducted as the &#8220;Builder,\u201d awarded to an alumnus\/ae of the College of Business Administration whose company must have been in operation for a minimum of ten years and have had significant revenue and profit growth.\u00a0 The individual must have been instrumental in the growth of an established business.<\/p>\n<p>The Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame is the college&#8217;s largest alumni event each year, bringing together more than 500 alumni and other local business leaders.
