K. Galen Kroeck, chair, Department of Management and International Business. “All the institutions in the top 15 are highly regarded schools with a profound influence on international business through their faculty and students.”

The college won’t be resting on its laurels but will continue to make strides in international business, one of the business school’s strategic areas of focus.

“We will expand our contributions to the Consortium for Undergraduate International Business Education (CUIBE) through a number of initiatives,” Kroeck said. “Also, our Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the first in Florida, recently was one of 33 U.S. CIBERs to receive a major grant from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE)—the largest grant of those awarded to Florida’s three CIBERs. The four-year funding will enable us to continue offering outreach programs for business people, sponsor faculty research and organize study abroad opportunities for our students, among many other activities. And, as we keep hiring leading faculty in the field, I have little doubt that we will remain in the top tier of undergraduate business programs in international business.”

Peer evaluations result in the rankings.

To obtain its undergraduate business school rankings, U.S.News surveys deans and senior faculty at each undergraduate business program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

“Being recognized by U.S.News & World Report for the seventh consecutive year is an important validation of our commitment to international business,” said Joyce J. Elam, executive dean of the business school. “The dedication of our faculty and staff, and the enthusiasm of our students, bode well for our ongoing achievements as we prepare the next generation of global business leaders.”

Since 2005, U.S.News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” has ranked undergraduate international business programs in the College of Business Administration at Florida International University (FIU) among the 15 best in the nation, three times in the top 10.
