{"id":9591,"date":"2010-09-29T16:35:03","date_gmt":"2010-09-29T20:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/?p=9591"},"modified":"2017-11-13T09:59:15","modified_gmt":"2017-11-13T14:59:15","slug":"faculty-notes-september-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/2010\/09\/faculty-notes-september-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Notes: September 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Department of Management and International Business<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jerry Haar<\/strong>, associate dean for international programs, professor and research fellow, was quoted in an article about the economic recovery titled Pulling out fastest: health, tourism, education, government in <em>Miami Today<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Department of Decision Sciences and Information Systems<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monica Chiarini Tremblay<\/strong>, assistant professor, has had her article \u201cUsing Focus Groups for Artifact Refinement and Evaluation,\u201d written with two colleagues, published in <em>Communications of the AIS<\/em>, a high quality journal.<\/p>\n<p><em>Department of Finance and Real Estate<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>William Hardin<\/strong>, director, Real Estate Programs, professor and Knight-Ridder Research Fellow, was quoted in two articles: Good news, bad news on foreclosures in <em>The Miami Herald<\/em> and Commercial real estate good for buyers, but not for sellers in <em>Miami Today<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ken H. Johnson<\/strong>, associate professor, had an Op-Ed piece, titled To buy or not to buy?, in <em>The Miami Herald<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>At the annual Faculty Awards Luncheon, Executive Dean<strong> Joyce J. Elam<\/strong> acknowledged faculty members for their accomplishments, including their publication record. A total of 30 faculty members had articles published in premier journals in the past year. Among that group, four had three premier journal publications each: from the Department of Finance and Real Estate, <strong>Robert Daigler<\/strong>, Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow; <strong>William Hardin<\/strong>, director, Real Estate Programs, professor and Knight-Ridder Research Fellow; and <strong>Zhonghua Wu<\/strong>, assistant professor; and from the Department of Management and International Business, <strong>Mary Ann Von Glinow<\/strong>, professor and Knight Ridder Eminent Scholar Chair in International Management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department of Management and International Business Jerry Haar, associate dean for international programs, professor and research fellow, was quoted in an article about the economic recovery titled Pulling out fastest: health, tourism, education, government in Miami Today.
