Newburry is the SunTrust Bank Professor and Lin is the Morrison, Brown, Argiz, &amp; Farra, LLP Professor. Both were previously Knight Ridder Center Research Fellows.<a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/newburry-lin2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9684\" title=\"newburry-lin2\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/newburry-lin2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"465\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese appointments are in recognition of their outstanding performance and potential for both research and teaching in their respective fields,\u201d said <strong>Joyce J. Elam<\/strong>, executive dean of the business school.<\/p>\n<p>Both Newburry and Lin are expected to continue to conduct research and to teach undergraduate or graduate courses in international business and to be active members of the academic community as well as to contribute to the mission of the college and their departments.<\/p>\n<p><em>Elam appoints two Knight Ridder Center Research Fellows<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In addition, Elam appointed two Knight Ridder Center Research Fellows: <strong>Aya Chacar<\/strong>, associate professor, Department of Management and International Business, who is also a Kauffman Associate Professor based on her submission \u201cThe Impact of Managerial Human and Social Capital on Entrepreneurial Firms&#8217; Performance in Complex International Environments\u201d; and <strong>Ken H. Johnson<\/strong>, associate professor, Department of Finance and Real Estate, a three-year re-appointment.<a href=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/chacar-johnson.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9666\" title=\"chacar-johnson\" src=\"https:\/\/biznews.fiu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/chacar-johnson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"465\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cChacar\u2019s appointment as a Knight-Ridder Center Research Fellow is in recognition of her outstanding research record over the last three years, during which she had two UT Dallas publications,\u201d Elam said. \u201cJohnson has been re-appointed in recognition of his outstanding research record over the last three years, during which he had four premier publications.
