Alex Sotelo (BACC ’96) seems to enjoy every aspect of his job as regional controller for Yahoo! Latin America, part of the Yahoo! emerging markets region. He characterizes the people he works with as the “most rewarding aspect,” praising them as “exciting, inspiring, intelligent, creative and well-rounded,” and he’s proud to work for a company with global brand recognition.

His 10-year career path began with more traditional media: mostly television, but also film, cable, and  music before he found himself in a “new media role,” which he thinks is the “wave of the future.”

From his vantage point of 13 years post-graduation, he readily acknowledges his debt to the School of Accounting in the College of Business Administration

“Every day it helps me succeed,” he said. “I use the foundation it gave me on a regular basis and it propelled me to where I am today.”
