Once again, Hispanic Business has ranked the Chapman Graduate School of Business at Florida International University (FIU) in their Top 10 graduate schools in the country for Hispanic MBAs. The business school, which has consistently held a place in the listing, retained its 2008 eighth-place position in the September 2009 release of the survey results.
The other schools in the Top 10 were three University of Texas schools: San Antonio, El Paso and Austin; Stanford University; University of New Mexico; Dartmouth; University of California at Berkeley; University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and University of Miami.
Within stellar group, FIU’s College of Business Administration offers several competitive advantages.
“We are proud to be in the company of such great schools from across the country,” said Luis Casas, the business school’s director of marketing, communications and recruiting for the College of Business Administration. “We stand out from this impressive group for having the largest number of Hispanic students by far and for having the most diverse Hispanic population, with students whose cultural and family backgrounds are from practically every country in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The rankings are based on questionnaires sent in by the schools that provide details about enrollment, percentage of Hispanic faculty, the number of programs that recruit Hispanic students, retention rates and student services.
Recently, the college has been featured in several other rankings including #12 in undergraduate international business in the 2010 rankings by U.S.News and World Report; 11th on GetEducated.com’s list of affordable, regionally accredited online bachelor of business administration (BBA) programs nationwide; and ninth in operations management and 18th in accounting on BusinessWeek’s Best Undergraduate Business Schools list.
