MIAMI (September 15, 2009) –– Florida International University’s College of Business Administration is launching a new fully online Corporate MBA that will allow companies to offer employees the opportunity to earn an advanced degree on a partial scholarship.
Students whose companies partner with FIU will be eligible to receive a $20,000 scholarship toward the Corporate MBA, which will take advantage of the innovative web-based Epic Learning Management System, draw upon the expertise of full-time business school faculty members and use academic coaches to ensure that students do not feel isolated from their professors or classmates.
The 18-month program will operate on an eight-week term with multiple start dates. Rather than the GMAT, the Corporate MBA will use four years of work experience as a key entrance criterion, and there is no residency requirement.
“In these tough economic times, FIU is proud to partner with our business community to offer an affordable and accessible MBA so that working professionals can reach their full potential,” said Joyce J. Elam, executive dean of the business school. “We hope this will provide companies with the ability to offer an added retention benefit for their talent.”
FIU’s College of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s leading international business schools by such publications as BusinessWeek, U.S.News & World Report, Financial Times and Hispanic Business, among others.
