For the fourth consecutive year, the Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Graduate School of Business at Florida International University (FIU) is ranked in a publication of The Princeton Review: Best 300 Business Schools: 2011 Edition.

“For this edition, we’ve collected the opinions of more than 19,000 students at the best AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)-accredited MBA programs in the world,” said Robert Franek, senior vice president, publishing at The Princeton Review, a New York-based education services company and publisher of The Princeton Review guides.

Rating validates the business school’s approach to programs and services.

“Each school has a two-page profile and we are pleased that the comments of our students show that the efforts we are making on their behalf are having the desired effect,” said Luis Casas, director, marketing, communications and recruiting in the College of Business Administration. “For example, in the academic area, students praise our ‘excellent reputation in the South Florida business community,’ our affordability and the quality of our professors and administrators.”

The graduate school also drew praise for its helpful and large alumni network, its high-tech resources and the fact that it lives up to its name.

The FIU MBA program is “like the United Nations. We come from many nations: Germany, France, the United States, Central America and South America,” said one respondent.

That diversity also plays out in the range of industries represented such as students from the banking, healthcare, pharmaceutical, automotive, and insurance sectors as well as a variety of functional areas, such as logistics.

The guide further notes, “no wonder students call an FIU MBA ‘a superb investment at a very low price.’”

The Princeton Review compiles the ranking lists based on institutional data it collects from the schools and the student surveys.
