Brice Dupoyet, associate professor, has been appointed to the Florida International Bankersā Association (FIBA) Professorship for three years. As a FIBA professor, he will continue to conduct research and teach courses in the field and serve actively in the academic community. He also will be the collegeās liaison to FIBA and will both attend and participate in that organizationās professional and social functions.
Research by Ken H. Johnson, associate professor and Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow, was featured in a special report on property, published in The Economist. His co-authored study, āLessons from Over 30 Years of Buy versus Rent Decisions: Is the American Dream Always Wise?,ā will be published in a forthcoming issue of Real Estate Economics.
Suchismita Mishra, associate professor and Knight Ridder Center Research Fellow, has been elected as a director for the Eastern Finance Association. She will officially assume the position immediately following the organizationās annual meeting.

Research by Nathan Hiller, assistant professor and faculty director of FIUās Center for Leadership High Potential Program, was quoted extensively in an article titled āTips for Developing High-Potential Talentā in FoxBusiness.com and in a segment on FoxNews.com.
Dileep Rao, clinical professor and author of Bootstrap to Billions, received the āIEEE-USA Entrepreneur Achievement Awardā at the IEEE-USA annual meeting in Austin, Texas. He was recognized for his āfor contributions in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and development of future engineering businesses.ā

Robert W. McGee, associate professor, and his research assistant Adriana M. Ross, a student in the Executive Master of Science in Taxation program, submitted six manuscripts for presentation at the 2011 Spring International Conference of the Allied Academies, to be held in Orlando, April 6-8; all were accepted. In addition, the paper titled āA Six-Country Study on Education Level and Ethical Attitude toward Tax Evasionā won the āDistinguished Research Awardā in the category of Legal, Ethical and Regulatory Issues and has been accepted for publication in Journal of Legal, Ethical and Regulatory Issues, which has an acceptance rate of 25 percent. The five other papers accepted for presentation at the conference are āA Demographic Study of Polish Attitudes toward Tax Evasion,ā āAttitudes toward Tax Evasion in Switzerland: A Demographic Study,ā āA Demographic Study of South African Attitudes on Tax Evasion,ā āA Demographic Study of the Netherlands Attitudes toward Tax Evasionā and āA Demographic Study of Malaysian Views on the Ethics of Tax Evasion.ā
