AméricaEconomía, the leading business magazine in Latin America, has released its 2011 rankings of exceptional graduate business programs globally and in Latin America. Once again, the Chapman Graduate School at Florida International University (FIU) has been ranked among the top 50 business schools worldwide for its full-time International MBA. This puts the Chapman School in elite company that includes Harvard Business School, London Business School and The Wharton School–University of Pennsylvania. It has been included in AméricaEconomía’s global list every year since 2004, positioned 48th in 2011.

For the global rankings, schools are measured on five criteria: selectivity, quality of the faculty, salary, Latin American connections and prestige.

“Given the stringency of the evaluation process used by AméricaEconomía, we are honored that our full-time IMBA consistently places us in the top 50 business schools worldwide and alongside so many impressive universities,” said Luis Casas, director of marketing, communications and recruiting for FIU’s College of Business Administration.

College’s partners rank high in second list.

AméricaEconomía also released its annual list of top Latin American schools based on criteria that include academic strength, production and dissemination of knowledge, internationalization and network power. Nine of the top ten institutions on the list are partners in the Chapman School’s global Dual Degree Network. Through the college’s Dual Degree program students in programs at the partner schools can earn two graduate degrees, one from their home institution and one from FIU.

“The network enables students from our Latin American partners who want to pursue a second graduate degree to come to Miami where they can expand their global perspective and network, and enables our students to do the same at these leading institutions,” Casas said. “The network positions FIU Business as a leader in terms of relationships with the top business schools in Latin America, while providing a range of outstanding opportunities for students and faculty alike.”
