Nancy Borkowski, executive director of the Healthcare MBA (HCMBA) program in the Chapman Graduate School of Business at Florida International University (FIU) was the subject of a letter of gratitude—“Nancy Borkowski: A different leader”—from Jean Sergot Raphael (HCMBA ’12), who graduated from the HCMBA in December 2012.

The opinion piece, which appeared in The Miami Herald, focused on Borkowski’s commitment as a teacher, her integrity and her transformational leadership, which has inspired him to strive to become a leader also.

“When we make a difference in a student’s life, it is worth all the challenges,” said Borkowski, who is also a clinical associate professor in the College of Business’ Department of Decision Sciences and Information Systems.
