Nancy Richmond, FIU Business’ new director of Career Management Services, came to the college with a mission: helping students maximize their professional social media presence as they engage in the job search process.

As the founder of the Career Counselor Technology Forum on LinkedIn with over 2,200 members,  Richmond specializes in social media and the career development.  At COB, she has established hands-on LinkedIn Labs for students and extended her knowledge through a LinkedIn seminar for faculty and staff.

“We want to help everyone become more active LinkedIn users, so they can connect more effectively to their greater professional networks at any stage of their careers,” she said.

On June 28, with colleague Sabrina Woods, Associate Director for Career Services at Northeastern University in Boston, Richmond  presented to 30 faculty and staff members.  With the success of the first seminar, Richmond plans to offer a second seminar in the fall. Stay tuned for more details.
