The College of Business extended a heartfelt thank you to a broad range of partners and supporters at the 2017 Beyond Giving reception, recognizing their efforts to help set a path for new opportunities for students at FIU.
Over one hundred people attended Beyond Giving reception, held June 15, 2017 at the College of Business Complex at FIU’s main campus. Networking guests, many of them alumni, shared stories of their days at FIU and of how they’re giving back to new generations of COB students via scholarships, mentoring programs, donations and other projects.
“In the coming year you will see our students grow as they take advantage of new opportunities you help give them,” said Dean Joanne Li. “Miami needs FIU and FIU needs you!”
At the event, Li unveiled the Donor Wall, which recognizes the commitment of individuals and organizations for their philanthropic support to the college and its students, in the CBC lobby.
“You have made a huge difference in the life of students who are starting out,” she said.
Li also premiered the Beyond Giving video, showcasing the many ways alumni, corporate partners, donors and volunteers are making a difference in the lives of students. Alumni board member Andres Campo (BBA ’00), chair and founder of Axxis Solutions, narrated the video.
