Maria C. Alonso

Maria C. Alonso (MBA ‘91) was named president and chief executive officer of the United Way of Miami-Dade. She was previously senior vice president and Miami market manager at Bank of America.

Felipe Inoa (MS ’07) has started a new job as head of information technology for the Americas at TMF Group, which provides financial and administrative support to companies in more than 80 countries.

Juan Carlos Gallegos, (MS ’15), product manager for CareCloud, spoke at HxRefactored 2017 in Boston on June 20, 2017, a conference focusing on improving health experiences through human-centered design and technology.

Lenny Ardiles (MS ’10) has started a new job as a data engineer for Enterprise Asset Management. He handles data warehousing using Amazon Redshift.

Ultimate Software promoted Lawanda Green, (MS ’10) to Manager of System Analysis. Previously, she held the position of Team Lead–System Analysis at the company.

The Florida Virtual School in Orlando has hired Neida Ortiz-Beauvoir (MS ’13) as a quality assurance specialist.

Jonathan Simoens (BBA ’03, MIB ’06) has been named commercial banking director at Florida Community Bank and is based in Weston.

Roni Kirchheimer (MS ’12) has been promoted to data warehouse specialist at Baptist Health South Florida. Previously, he was a business intelligence consultant at Baptist Health South Florida.

Legna Gonzalez (MSF ’05) has been named managing director of investments and program director, CUSO Financial Services, L.P. at Power Financial Credit Union in Pembroke Pines.

Monica Balda (BBA ’04) was recognized as an Emerging Professional within the field of supply chain and given a scholarship from Capital One. She received the award at the Institute for Supply Management’s annual conference.

John Baez (MS ’12) is senior business intelligence solutions consultant at BIGBI Solutions. Previously, he was business intelligence manager at Steiner Leisure Limited.

Governor Rick Scott awarded Lynne Gassant (MS ‘15) with the Volunteer Florida Champion of Service Award. Gassant is executive director of Scholar Career Coaching, a nonprofit organization that provides after school mentoring services to South Florida high school students, particularly those who speak English as a second language.

The South Florida Business Journal honored three College of Business graduates at its 40 Under 40 awards ceremony, held August 4, 2017 at Jungle Island in Miami: Andre Llop (MBA ’13), Hector Antunez, (BBA ’06), and Laura Elder (MSTx ’03).
