FIU Business’ Hollo School of Real Estate was ranked #1 in the U.S. and #2 globally by the Journal of Real Estate Literature, marking its third consecutive year in the top spots. The Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) rankings highlight faculty and university contributions to the field of real estate research from 2013-2017.
“Our consistency in the top rankings shows we have a dedicated faculty and that FIU has made a commitment to real estate research and our real estate program,” said William G. Hardin III, director of the Hollo School of Real Estate.
Internationally, FIU placed No. 2 to National University of Singapore. In the U.S., the College of Business’ real estate faculty outranked those of established programs including Cornell University, University of Florida and University of Georgia.
The rankings are based on the number of publications in the top three peer-reviewed real estate journals – the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and Real Estate Economics – from 2013 to 2017. During that period, FIU’s real estate faculty had 44 contributions.
Hardin, who published 11 articles in the academic journals, was ranked No. 2 in the REAL Author Rankings. Other faculty members on the list are Zhenguo Lin (No. 4), Eli Beracha (No. 11) and Zhongua Wu (No. 24).
