The Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) rankings highlight faculty and university contributions to the field of real estate research from 2015-2019.

We have five top-notch real estate research faculty in our department and we are searching for a sixth research faculty member to join us next year,” said Eli Beracha, director of the Hollo School of Real Estate. “This amounts to a concentration of real estate research talent that is higher than any other university in the country, which allows us to continuously publish high quality research that is relevant to academics as well as real estate practitioners.”

Internationally, FIU placed No. 2 to National University of Singapore. In the U.S., the College of Business’ real estate faculty outranked those of established programs including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Florida State University, Cornell University, and University of Wisconsin – Madison.

The rankings are based on the number of publications in the top three peer-reviewed real estate journals: the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and Real Estate Economics – from 2015 to 2019. During that period, FIU’s real estate faculty had 39 contributions.

William Hardin III, associate dean of FIU’s Chapman Graduate School and former director of the Hollo School, who published 11 articles in the academic journals, was ranked No. 3. Other faculty members placing among the highest on the list are Zhenguo Lin (No. 2), with 13 publications, and Eli Beracha (No. 10), director of the Hollo School, with 9.

In addition to the Master of Science in International Real Estate, offered in both traditional and online forums, the Hollo School offers an undergraduate degree in real estate, and houses the Jerome Bain Real Estate Institute.
