Martin Cerda (BBA ’86), founder and research director of Encuesta, Inc., won the “Sixth Annual HispanSource Award for Achievement in Hispanic Marketing Research”—the most coveted award in the Hispanic marketing research industry. He was recognized for his career spanning 25 years in U.S. Hispanic marketing and opinion research, and his commitment to the Latino community through the efforts of Encuesta, Inc. and the Americanos Poll. Cerda received the award, presented by the James J. Hill Reference Library and Aguilar Productions, at the 14th Annual Hispanic Marketing Midwest Conference, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 16, 2010.
Cerda credited his “staff and the real heroes of our company, our fieldwork team,” noting that “Encuesta, Inc. and I are humbled by this recognition. It is a privilege to be the ‘eyes and ears’ of decision makers, and as a researcher my efforts are always ‘behind-the-scenes’ and rarely recognized. This award will inspire us to carry forward our important work and responsibility to our clients and the Latino community.”
