In March, 30 members of Future Business Leaders of America–Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) from Florida International University (FIU) captured 32 awards from the organization’s 2012 State Leadership Conference.
Thanks to their victories, they earned the right to compete for 17 awards at the 61st Annual National Leadership Conference, “Gateway to Greatness,” held in San Antonio, Texas from June 24-27, 2012.
And compete they did. The 18-student delegation from the College of Business Administration won 15 awards—including three first-place finishes. That number exceeded the chapter’s record-breaking 13 awards in 2011 and placed FIU ahead of University of Texas, University of Pittsburgh and University of California-Berkeley, among many others. More than 500 chapters/universities attended.
“We continue to set the example across the country that the business students at FIU are unparalleled,” said chapter advisor Yanyn San Luis (BA ’10). “The undergraduate students continue to do amazing work and represent FIU Business exceptionally well.”
Members and chapter as a whole gain recognition.
