Florida International University’s Foundation has named Jose Valdes-Fauli (BBA ’75) as a member. He has held leadership positions as CEO and president at Beach Bank, Eastern National Bank and Colonial Bank.

Mario Trueba (MBA ’87) was a recipient of a Torch Award at the 12th annual Torch Awards Gala on March 23, 2013. The awards, which recognize selected individuals for the positive impact they make on their profession, the community and the university, honor the memory of Senator Ernest R. Graham, who helped create FIU.

Home Financing Center named Maria T. Perez-Arche (BACC ’01) director of operations. She rejoins the company after serving as its vice president of operations from 2002-2010 and accounting manager from 2001-2002.She was operations officer in the residential lending department at Ocean Bank.

Greenberg Traurig named Carlos R. Lago (BBA ’03) as an associate. He was the chief of staff for Jackson Health System.
